Buy Custom Windows XP And Windows Vista

This is the era of Windows Vista but Windows xp is still a great operating system. The new Microsoft’s baby has not convinced everybody yet and lots of users still recommends Windows Xp over Vista.

Why ? Some say the interface is beautiful but makes your PC run slower than on XP. If you are looking for a stable and fast operating system, you may want to buy windows xp even if you already own vista.

One other part that plays against Windows Vista is the lost of time to learn how to use it. The new interface has been greatly redesigned and this is a good thing, but, you may be lost at first, trying to figure our where did they put this option you like so much….

Gamers are among those who can’t wait to see if Vista will get better and faster with time. But you may want to buy windows xp too if you own some hardware that just won’t work (for now) on windows vista.

Buying an operating system is a really serious task. For now, you may choose one that has nothing more to prove and is less expensive. For me anyway, the choice is easy, I am right now working on XP, and I am planning to buy a new computer soon… even if it comes with Vista installed on, I will buy Windows XP and install it on another drive so I can be sure to be able to use my softwares and give a try to Vista.

  1. thanks for that black xp i love it :)

  2. yes as long as its not in the same directory it will then give you a menu to select either on bootup when installed

  3. You definitely have to buy a whole new windows XP disc. The Dell reinstall only works with Dell computers. At a certain point it won't let you install XP. Because it was specifically designed for Dell. If you are a student or know a student or faculty member you can get Windows XP for cheap at a student discount rate. Hope that helps.

  4. http://www.tigerdirect.com has the upgrade Vista that is coming out on 1/30/07. You can preorder it now. They also have a Toll Free Number you can call and they will answer your questions. The standard upgrade is $99.00, about the same as anyone else. They also have the more expensive upgrades (not much more and more functions included) Go to their site and you can read what they are offering, It was in my inbox this morning as I am on their *mailing* list

  5. there is leading edge technology and there is bleeding edge technology.

Leading edge would say option 3, get a Windows XP SP2 machine that is Vista Ready and when the time is right (Vista SP1) then do an upgrade to Vista. the drawback is that when you upgrade you may have to re-install your programs/applications.

Bleeding Edge would say. Get the Olption 2 machine with wondows Vista and whenever SP 1 comes out install it and carry on.

Personally I would do option 2.

  6. im not sure. but i also wanted to get a new computer WIHTOUT vista. i was checking out the DELL site (sry not emachines i have an emachines computer tho =D ) and went to the small buisness desktop section u can customize it and it gives u an option if u want vista or xp.

  7. My father-in-law just took advantage of that with HP. Don't know if it's still available, but you might check there as well.
