Feedback to Seller: personal_technology We bought a refurbished laptop from this seller trusting that their products were guaranteed as advertised. We also thought the free Tech support was also something we could rely on. However, when we finally got our laptop, things were different. Together with the computer there was a Please read first paper that stated: The system should boot into Windows. Everything is loaded and tested before it leaves our office This computer has been thoroughly inspected. We test all computer parts to assure quality. When we turned our laptop on, Windows didnt start right away, we had to start it. However, after pressing F1, windows 2000 CD was requested. The technicians first solution was to ask us to try to get the CD and solve the problem by ourselves. He insisted on this many times and after we reassured to him there was no way we could get the CD, he asked us to send the laptop back to them so they could install the driver there, and the reason why it did not work was because something must have got loosen during the delivery, that these things were very common. We found this explanation very unprofessional, especially after reading their please read first paper, which had nothing to do with the truth. We lost time and money due to this gimmicky sellers. A shame. Gimmicky sellers. A shame. Product apparently thoroughly inspected, but basic Windows didnt work. Solution form Tech, get the CD and solve it yourself.

ecost.com advertised a new laptop on their website. I made the purchase and received a reconditioned (ie refurbished) laptop with no manuals, software, or accessory cables. I would like to think this was a mistake on their part. However, if you Google “ecost.com fraud” you will find several complaints of questionable behavior from this company. ecost is a division of pcmall – I hope that they do something to improve upon the service of ecost. I will no longer purchase from ecost or PC Mall.
