Vista install in 2 minutes

Windows Vista is a popular operating system used for personal computers, business desktops, laptops, media center etc. But when you try to install or upgrade it, you might receive few errors that may prevent you to continue the process. During such situations, one of the typical reasons is that Windows Vista or Windows Vista setup fails to access the hard drive, probably due to hard drive damage. Thus, you are required to immediately replace your hard drive and restore as much data possible from backup. In case of backup issues when you cannot get the required information, hard drive data recovery tools are available to recover it.
While trying to install Windows Vista, you might encounter a Stop error:
“Stop: 0×0000007B”
This error occurs when Windows Vista cannot access the hard drive that contains the startup files for Windows Vista.
Cause
You get 0×0000007B error in any of the possible situations:
1. No compatible driver for the disk controller is located by Windows Vista
2. Your hard drive cabling is damaged or not connected properly
3. Your computer is affected by a boot sector virus
4. Incompatible computer BIOS
5. MBR (Master Boot Record) is being used by another program
6. Hard drive is damaged
Solution
To solve the existing issue, consider following these methods:
1. If you are attempting clean install of Windows Vista or trying to upgrade it, the problem is typically related to absent or incompatible driver, required to be provided. Download Windows Vista drivers and use Load Driver option of Windows Vista setup to install them
2. Make sure that your hard drive and interface cables are healthy and properly connected
3. Scan the computer for viruses
4. If BIOS incompatibility is the issue, replace your motherboard
5. Wait till the program using MBR completes its task
6. If hard drive is damaged, replace it and restore from backup. Consult hard disk recovery service technicians for their manual data recovery help, if you find that your backup cannot give required results or is currently unavailable. two posters are right i'm using Vista too and my game run perfectly.Dell 1525 laptop is not designed to play Sims 2 and you're not the only one who have freezing problem here.http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result;_ylt=AoOPgN213GHs43Wu8EARJwnpy6IX;_ylv=3?p=sims+2+problem+with+dell+1525
when i checked specs for Dell 1525 they have sufficient RAM but some have old Celeron processor and nearly all models comes with integrated chipset Intel 965/Intel X3100.maybe this is why your game keep freezing or locks up.you don't have real graphics card in your laptop.in order to play Sims 2 and expansion packs you need supported graphics card with dedicated memory like Nvidia Geforce or ATI Radeon with at least 256MB memory.check system requirements here.http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:System_Requirements/MTS2_Recommendations
no matter how new your Intel graphics chipset is it just can't beat real cards in terms of game performance.since dell 1525 is a laptop there's nothing much you can't do except turning down sims 2 graphic setting.you can add RAM to your laptop but to upgrade graphics card and processor it's not possible.maybe you should try Sims 2 life stories or sims castaway instead as these games are specially made for non-gaming laptop like yours.
Vista doesn’t suck, sure it’s maybe not as quick as we’d all like it too be and can be annoying but it has definitely improved since RTM. But anyway, the solution to Vista – WIn 7
Are you absolutely sure all the content you are downloading is in Sims2pack format? Because these are the only files you should be double-clicking on to install.
Maybe some of the files you are downloading are not Sims2packs and this is why you are not getting the pop-up.
Most custom content actually comes in Package format. You will need to place those file(s) into your Downloads folder so that they can be read by Sims 2 and will show up when you go to play your game. Usually package files are compressed as Zip or rar files, and you need an unzipping utility such as Winrar to extract them first to your Downloads folder.

Well, it seems your CD is old. Buy a new one!
Ok according to the vista forms, sims 2 should work with vista as well as all the expansions. But it is possible if you installed vista sometime after you installed the sims game you'll most likely have to reinstall the entire game. I had the same problem with some of my games as well. Worst case is you need to find a patch or something.
Hahahahahhahaha PERFECT!
Are you doing a partition and format on the drive before trying to install the files? From what you listed it should at least come up in VGA mode. There should also be a RAM test on the boot CD. Are you sure you have adequate cooling on the CPU? If it starts overheating it can act funny they start shutting things down.
Vista sucks, XP is good, Ubuntu rules!
windows sucks
if you done a clean install and set the new hdd to master, and got rid old hdd or set it to slave then try to run windows custom updates.
try in safe mode with networking
set ie7 to this
IE7
=======
Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab.
In IE7 Tools >Internet Options >Advance Tab
Click Restore advance settings defaults button.
Then scroll the listings down to near the bottom and:
Tick empty temp files when browser closes (this empties the cache, which if not empty, will stop you from going online).
Bullet disable phishing filter (optional. Leave it on if you want that type of protection, usually for financial data like internet banking)
Delete Browser History, cookies, add ons, the whole lot regularly.
Close the browser to set the settings.
after custom updates find the video hardware acceleration and slide it back a notch
also find the sound hardware acceleration and slide it back a notch.
